Policies and Procedures
At Boise Acting Studio, we are committed to providing a professional, focused, and supportive environment for actors to train at a high level. These policies are in place to protect the integrity of the work and the experience of every student.
Enrollment
At this time, all classes are adult classes. Students must be 18 years or older to enroll.
A three-month commitment is highly recommended, as this work builds over time and requires consistency.
Enrollment reserves your spot in an ongoing class.
Tuition & Billing
Tuition is billed automatically every 4 weeks.
Tuition reserves your place in class, not individual sessions.
Tuition is non-refundable and not prorated for missed classes.
A valid payment method must be kept on file.
Attendance & Communication
Consistent attendance is essential to your growth and to the work of your partner and group.
If you will miss class, please notify the teacher before assignments go out (typically 72 hours in advance).
If you are running late, text both the teacher and your scene partner.
Students are expected to arrive on time and stay for the entire class.
Makeup Classes:
If you report an absence with sufficient notice (before assignments go out, typically 72 hours in advance), you may schedule a makeup class on a different class night within the same month as the absence.
If you miss class due to illness or booked acting work, you may be eligible for a makeup at the instructor’s discretion.
No-shows are unacceptable and may result in temporary or permanent termination from the studio, at the studio’s discretion.
Repeated day-of absences disrupt the work. Calling in an absence the day of class more than three times may result in termination.
Class Structure & Participation
Class size is approximately 12 students.
All actors work in every class.
Students are expected to put time and thought into their assignments and come prepared.
Do the work on your assignments with full commitment.
Students are also expected to have a solo assignment prepared in the event that their scene partner is absent last-minute.
Showing up unprepared may result in dismissal from class and, if repeated, may result in termination from the studio.
This is a professional training environment. Your preparation directly impacts your partner and the quality of the work in the room.
Class Etiquette
No talking during another actor’s work or during critique.
Only the teacher gives notes during class.
The relationship between the teacher and actor must be respected.
Please maintain a high level of courtesy and professionalism at all times.
Materials & Preparation
When working with scenes, please have your material printed out. Do not read scripts from your phone or any electronic device.
You are responsible for bringing any props needed for your scene or improv that the studio does not already provide.
Studio Care & Cleanliness
Please return all props to their proper place after use.
Return furniture to its original position.
Wash any dishes or bottles used (sponges and dish soap are available in the bathroom).
Respecting the space is part of the work and contributes to a professional environment for everyone.
Confidentiality
Please respect the privacy of your fellow actors and teacher.
All conversations, stories, and work that take place in class are to remain confidential.
This allows the room to remain a safe place for honest, vulnerable work.
Conduct
To protect the integrity of the space:
No texting during class
If you would like to take notes, please bring a pen and paper
No disruptive behavior
Physical violence toward any student or teacher will not be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal.
Pausing or Leaving Class
If you need to pause or leave class, written notice must be given before your next billing cycle.
Once tuition is processed, it is non-refundable.
Your spot is not guaranteed if you choose to leave and return.
Our Commitment
We are committed to offering a space where actors can:
Train at a professional level
Work truthfully and without judgment
Build consistency, confidence, and craft over time
